Scotia Pro Wrestling Monster Bash Review 19/10/24

The show started with Bryan D coming to the ring to announce the new commissioner of spw and hypes up Steve Magners as he has been in the business for 15-plus years Bryan Asked Mangers what to expect from him as the new commissioner.

Magners replied by saying he is going to elevate SPW and take them to new heights to be the number 1 wrestling company out there he then gets interrupted by Marc Munro of ICR.

Marc starts to mouth off at both Bryan and Magners and says him George Hatcher is the best in SPW and he is tired of not getting opportunities to which Magners says you got balls kid and I like what you are saying and if you have the opportunity to prove your self ill give it to you.

Magners says you're on and you have your opportunity the go for a gold rumble on January 31st and not only that you will enter at number 1.

Match 1 - SPW Defiance Championship Mercer (c) v Tommy Kartell.

The match starts with Tommy leaving as the fans are chanting for Mercer he comes back through the curtain gets booed again and says let's try one more time and then comes back through the curtain again and then gets booed.

Tommy gets in the ring and goes to show off his muscles and again gets booed and then says let me show you this he then does press-ups and gets booed again Mercer then shows off his muscles and pose and fans cheer.

Both men go to lock up and Kartell kicks Mercer in the stomach and gains the upper hand in the match before starting to talk trash to the fans. Mercer whips Kartell to the corner hits him with a few slaps and regains control of the match Kartell then gets him in the corner hits Mercer a few times and gets the four count from the ref.

Kartell then asks if he can stand on Mercer's hand and he does and the ref do not say anything he asks Mercer if he can play guitar and he says no piano to which Kartell goes to snap Mercer's fingers in the tune of the music man.

Then gets Mercer on the ground and goes for a submission and Mercer gets his foot on the ropes and the ref again gives him the four count He's like to ref and says I can't touch the ropes and he can you need to tell me the rules then.

Kartell then goes for the drop kick and Mercer Feigns a knee injury and Kartell goes on the attack and the ref tells him to stop so the ref can check on Mercer Kartell attacks again then start to give fans crap and Mercer is up behind him and hits a killswitch to get the 3 count and the win.

Official Winner - STILL Defiant Champion - Mercer

Official thoughts - I liked how this match started with Tommy running off and getting the heat from the fans and very good back-and-forth match and loved also how Mercer feigned the injury and then retained the title.

Match 2 - SPW Tag Team Championship Match - Knockout Kings v The Par

Before the match started the Knockout Kings just mucking about with Kid Fite Staying in the Par Face this went back and forth for quite a bit as Fite kept just talking in The Par Face that Davy was telling Kid to come to their corner wasn't until the fans shouted to Davey before Kid moved to his corner.

The match started with Davey and Robbie Balfour, Davey began to with the upper hand by getting Balfour in different locks. Balfour managed to get into the match by putting Davey in a wristlock and Davey quickly got to the ropes to break it. Davey went towards Balfour who told him to stop and he then Tagged in Ross Hunter to which Davey then tagged in Kid Fite.

Kid was going back and forth with Hutner saying your wresting name is not Ross and we as fans were trying to not laugh saying I can be your daddy Kid put Hunter in a headlock and Hunter threw Kid towards the rope for Kid to reverse an Irish whip hutner to there corner do the double team Balfour tries to get into help and the ref stops him and this happens a few times and Balfour is not happy.

Hunter tries to get some offence but Kid cuts him off and he tags In Davey and continues the beat down in their corner both Balze and Hunter are down and now at a 7 count.

Hunter got thrown into the corner where Kid was standing, Kid annoyed Balfour who tried to get in the ring but as the referee stopped him Davey was choking Hunter as Kid was punching him. Davey comes into the match and Kid puts his boot on the top turnbuckle and Davey throws Hunter's head into the boot. Kid was tagged in and Davey told Kid to put his boot in the top rope.

The Knockout Kings got the upper hand for a while before Hunter managed to hit and massive kick to Davey this allowed Hunter to make the tag to Robbie who went straight on the attack for a while with heavy hits and big moves. The Par went for their Finisher only for the Knockout Kings to hit theirs and get the 3-count.

Official Winners - STILL SPW Tag Team Champions - The Knockout Kings

Official thoughts - I thought the beginning was so fun and they were amazing at doing it, the match was very good and both teams showed they wanted the titles, this was also the first time I had seen the par and liked what I saw from them.

Match 3 - Piper Reynolds v KT Mills

Both women lock up but KT gets a shock when Piper spins her around by her arms and lets her drop. Both Women lock up again and KT Pushes Piper to the mat, KT then hits a running shoulder tackle before she has Piper in her arms and hits a falling-back slam. Piper finally gets back in the match and hits a clothesline to KT who is in the middle of the ring.

Piper stays on the upper hand and hits another clothesline which doesn't affect KT, Piper tries again and still doesn't affect KT. Mills continues to hit some big moves and holds gets 2 counts in between and gets another two count.

Piper comes into the match more and both women trade clotheslines, Piper grabs the upper hand with a drop kick and then clothes and gets a 2 count

Piper stays on top till KT manages to hit a Samona Drop only for Piper to reverse it into a hurricane /ddt to KT Mills to get the 3 count and the win.

Official thoughts - This was a very good match and you couldn't tell that was only Piper's second match it was also good to see her go up against A talent like KT Mills I am looking forward to seeing more of these two in the future

Match 4 - SPW Heavyweight Championship Elimination Match - BT Gunn v Xander Davidson v Alex Clark v Che Monet

The match Started with Che with Monet and Xander Davidson going to the turn buckles and getting booed by the fans BT Gunn and Alex Clark do the same and both Xander and Che attack them.

Alex and Gunn teamed up to take on Davidson and Monet, and it was back-and-forth between them. Alex got thrown into Monet, and it was reversed. Gunn hit him with a shoulder block, and Alex asked him what that was.

Gunn says let's deal with these two and then be us one-on-one Gunn goes after Monet and gets in a few strikes and punches and Alex does the same to Davidson then Davidson tries to build a bit of momentum and Alex goes up to the top rope and hits a splash for the two count.

Xander tries to get into the match a bit more but is unsuccessful as he gets cut off by BT Gunn and then alex pins him for the 3 count and Xander Davidson is eliminated.

The match continues and all 3 competitors are going for it Gunn hits a few strikes on Monet and Alex also gets involved with a few strikes of his own to Monet, Che then takes control of the match by taking out Gunn and focusing on Clark.

Monet hits some good strikes on Clark and focuses on arm drag and then Alex tries a reversal only for Monet to continue on the attack and set up for his finisher and get the 3-count

Alex Clark has been eliminated and Monet thought he had won and then quickly realised that he still had to deal with BT Gunn the was a bit of back and forth between these two where Gunn took the upper hand with a few strikes and punches, Monet tried to build some offence but was cut off by Gunn who hits his finisher and 3 count and win

Official Winner - Still SPW Heavyweight Champion BT Gunn

Official Thought - I thought this was a very good match and also a great way to showcase all four talents and was also very good to see Alex Clark in the title picture and I am also looking for to seeing Che Monet again in the future

Match 5 - Jimmy Pierce v Logan Smith.

Before the match starts Jimmy gets on the mic and fans start shouting we want Logan to which Jimmy says he's not here and a fan shouts back we see him Jimmy continues to talk trash to fans Logan's music hits and he comes through via the front doors Jimmy tries to run to the ring Logan doesn't give him a chance and attacks him outside the ring.

Logan rolls Jimmy into the ring and the match starts Logan gives Jimmy a moment's rest and keeps on the attack in the corner and ref has to give Logan the four-count goes back on the attack again in the corner and gets the four-count again.

Logan roles Jimmy to the outside my son and friend's daughter had bought inflatable clubs and both asked Logan if they could hit Jimmy with them and hes on you go makes my job a bit easier Jimmy ended up running away from them and continued to do so.

Jimmy gets Logan Back in the ring turns the match around gets the upper hand continues to beat down Logan hits his finisher and gets the 3 count and the win

Official Thoughts - I thought this was a very good match and also good to see the interaction with the fans too and looking forward to seeing if this will develop further between the former tag team partners.

Match 6 - Luke Aldridge v Andy Roberts

The match started with both men locking up Andy get the upper hand and taking control and Luke tried to get back into the match every time he built a bit of momentum Andy cut him off and continued to take the fight to Luke.

Luke was on the mat trying to get the fans to rally for him and when they the did Andy started to mimicked the fans in a high pitched voice lets go Aldridge which i think was enough for luke to get back in the match deliver a clothesline out of nowhere which I didn't expect with Andy being on top.

Luke took control and got the upperhand with a few punches and spinning punches only for andy to cut him off again and atke back contol of the match and slow it down to the pace that he wanted.

Andy then hit a few punches and kicks and Luke tried for a clothesline and Andy reversed it and got set up for this finisher and hit the 3 count and the win

Official Thoughts - i thought this was a very good match and was the 1st time i had seen Andy Roberts live and was good to see him go up against an opponent like Luke and i would like to see Andy again in the future.

Post match their was a beat down by and on Luke and the par also got involved and looks like that is them now turned heel as were face earlier in the evening

Match 7 - Main event Monster Ball I Quit Match Nathan Reynolds v George Hatcher

This was the match on the card that i was most looking forward to just with the build up aloan over the last few months and also the attacks on Piper Reynolds By Hatcher made this match all the more personal.

On to the match it started inside the ring with a few strikes by both men but that quickly changed and the match spilled to the outside with Nathan getting the upper hand and look for all kinds of different weapons.

First Nathan used a baking tray to Hatcher head the he found another two and used them on the side of his ears then used a kendo stick on Hatchers back and the ref went ask if if he quits and he said your wife's a whore which only enraged Nathan even more.

few powerbombs by Nathan then a clothesline Hatcher rolls back to the outside while Nathan looks for more toy to use and Hatcher then gets he kendo stick and hits it across Nathans back and then does the same with a broom stick which break and lands near us.

Hatcher now in control and uses a chair against Nathan and and kendo and ask if he quits Nathan says never and then when Nathan comes to he goes to get a tape to put over Hatcher mouth so he cant say the word he quits as Nathan wants to kill him his words.

Nathan then goes to time keepers area and gets the laptop hit it off Hatcher back and ref goes ask again and Nathan say your not getting to ask him and gets a table and then powerbombs Hatcher through it.

Hatcher come to and hits Nathan with laptop and few times getting him back in the ring and Marc Munro come out to get involved and says you not got anyone fans start to chant we want Piper.

Munro and Hatcher are trying to cable tie Nathan to the ropes but its not working then go to use duck tape and Piper comes in and gets rid of Marc Munro Hatcher hits Piper with the George Cross and is in position for Randy Orton Punt kick and Nathan tells her to move and get up Hatcher goes to do it and Nathan then says I quit and Hatcher still follows through with the punt kick.

Official thoughts - wow wow wow what a match I thought this would be brutal due to the build of the match and how personal this has got and I don't think this is the end of the feud and am looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Overall thoughts I thought this was a very good put together show with some new talent that I haven't seen before and really looking forward to the next spw show
